‘Lunch with Niraj!’ explores assistive technology

Aldo may not be able to hold a bubble wand, but he still can blow bubbles using assistive technology.

Many of our members are demonstrating new abilities using assistive technology (AT). They are looming bracelets using weaving devices, expanding their communication via iPads and augmentative communication (aug com) devices, and operating computers — and bubble machines — with the flip of a specially designed switch.

Gompers is offering parents and care providers of its members an opportunity to learn more about assistive technology and its benefits at “Lunch with Niraj!” This special free event — set for noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Gompers — offers our caregivers an opportunity to chat with AT Specialist Niraj Parikh, see a variety of AT devices serving different purposes, and talk about assistive technology that may benefit their loved ones.

Lunch will be provided, and this special event is exclusively for parents and care providers. To reserve your space, contact Niraj Parikh at nparikh@gompers.org or call him at 602.336.0061, ext. 152.
